Facial Implants can be of benefit to anyone in Newport Beach who seeks a better sense of balance in the proportions of their facial features, to restore shape, and to those who have experienced injury or deformity. Often those who have a lack of proportion in their facial features experience low self-esteem and a Facial Implant procedure can help restore self-esteem helping you to look and feel your best.
The Ideal Candidate
Dr. Chong, a second-generation female plastic surgeon is board-certified and has performed many facial implant procedures over the course of her career. If you have a small chin, a weak jaw or a lack of facial contour, are in good overall health, do not smoke and have a healthy attitude about your expectations for cosmetic surgery, you might be an excellent candidate for Facial Implant surgery. Virtually any area of the face can be enhanced with a Facial Implant, however, the most common areas chosen for enhancement are the cheeks, jaw and chin. Other facial concerns may need to be addressed by different procedures like a blepharoplasty or a brow lift.
The Procedure
Dr. Chong will have an anesthesiologist administer MAC (Monitored Anesthesia Care) sedation to ensure your safety and comfort during surgery. To ensure a lack of scarring, she will then make incisions inside of your mouth, in a crease near the eyes, or in the hairline in the appropriate areas to access the areas where the implant will be placed. After inserting the implant, she will then close the incision.
The Recovery
The results of your facial implant surgery will be immediately noticeable, although you will experience some swelling which will diminish over the next few months. You will be able to return to your normal activities within several days to a week.
Dr. Chong is deeply committed to providing the highest quality, patient-centric care available. She will be happy to consult with you to explore your options to help you achieve your desired results.
