Botox: This FDA approved treatment is one of the most widely researched medicines in the world. A topical numbing cream is applied to the face, and tiny injections are administered directly into the muscles of the brow, forehead, and crow’s feet areas to temporarily smooth the appearance of wrinkles.

Dermal Fillers: A variety of fillers can be used to replace volume loss in the face and hands due to aging and natural asymmetry. Fillers provide immediate replacement of volume. Hyaluronic acids (HA) such as Belotero, Restylane, and Voluma hydrate the skin by holding water in, acting as a cushioning agent.
The day of treatment, a topical anesthetic is applied to alleviate any discomfort during the procedure. Cutera Secret RF Microneedling patients will be scheduled so as to arrive one hour prior to their treatment time. This allows adequate time for numbing of the treatment area.
Injectables patients (upon request) may have a prescription for numbing cream faxed to our compounding pharmacy. Injectables patients are advised to apply a light layer of numbing to their desired treatment areas 20-30 minutes prior to their arrival. Numbing is optional for injectables patients, but is generally recommended to treatments addressing the under eye and lip area.

How do I know which treatment to ask for?
We invite you to meet with Dr. Lavinia K. Chong and a member of your treatment team to discuss your goals and priorities. During your consultation you will have the opportunity to review past photos of yourself to gain better insight into your natural aging process and target your specific areas of concern. When scheduling your consultation, feel free to discuss the specific areas you are wishing to discuss with Dr. Chong as well as questions regarding specific treatments.
Do I have to schedule a consultation before treatment?
Yes. In order for Dr. Chong to have the appropriate amount of time to assess your goals and work with you to develop a treatment plan, a consultation is always the first step. Botox, dermal fillers, and Cutera Secret RF microneedling may have the option of treatment the same day as your consultation if scheduling an in-office consultation. Please advise your appointment scheduler if this is an option you would like to consider.
Does being a smoker matter if I am having non-surgical treatments?
Yes. Please advise Dr. Chong if you are a current or former smoker so that she can address any risk factors during your consultation.
Why do I have to share my health history?
Physician and patient must work together to agree on a treatment plan. In determining your eligibility to receive treatment, Dr. Chong relies on the information you provide. Full disclosure of your medical history keeps Dr. Chong aware of any changes in your health history including but not limited to changes in medications, clinical diagnosis, and weight loss/gain.
How can I avoid bruising after having injectables?
It is recommended that you stop taking Advil, Aleve, and Aspirin no less than 10 days prior to having injectables. Please also refrain from drinking red wine during this same period so as to reduce the incidence of bruising.
What type of results can I expect from Botox?
You can expect to see results within days after your treatment. The appearance of the areas where you were injected may continue to improve for up to a week. Visible results have been shown to last up to 4 months, and after that you may be ready for a follow-up treatment.
Can I expect any pain or discomfort with dermal fillers?
Injections may cause some discomfort during and after the injection. Hyaluronic acid injectable gels are injected directly into the skin using a fine needle to reduce injection discomfort. Most patients request a topical numbing agent to minimize discomfort.
What is the cost of Botox and Dermal Fillers?
The cost of injections may involve several charges, including but not limited to the initial cost of injection (price varies based upon product and amounts used). Additional costs would include additional treatment to improve the appearance of facial wrinkles and soft tissue depressions beyond that of the initial treatment. If additional interim injections of dermal filler are recommended in order to maintain or improve results, patients will be responsible for the costs of this additional treatment. Quotes are available upon request prior to treatment.
Are Botox and Dermal Fillers permanent?
No. Correction is temporary; therefore, touch-up injections as well as repeat injections are usually needed to maintain optimal correction. Less material is usually needed for repeat injections.
How many Cutera Secret RF Micro-needling treatments will I need?
A series of three Secret RF treatments is recommended to achieve optimal results. Each treatment is a separate charge, but you have the option of saving by prepaying a bundle of three treatments.
What type of post-treatment steps do I have to take at home following Cutera Secret RF Micro-needling?
You will be provided with instructions on post-procedure skin care the day of your treatment.
